Business Development Manager


Our client, who is a family owned and operated business, began in 1927 with the vision of their great-grandparents who set out to deliver fresh, high-quality fruit and vegetables to the members of their community.

The family business has grown a lot since then and are now proud to operate in six locations across Australia, in the capable hands of their fourth generation of leaders. They’ve also built partnerships with some of Australia’s leading hotels, restaurants, retailers and institutions, not to mention countless amazing farmers and producers both here and overseas.

Due to considerable growth, and aspirations to grow further we are looking for a Business Development Manager for their offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.

The successful applicants must possess:

  • At least 2 years experience selling to the hospitality and/or FMCG industry
  • A proven track record in sales with a strong understanding of the sales process
  • An ability to build and grow business relationships
  • Discipline, drive, resilience, a competitive nature and a go-getter attitude
  • Strong relationship building & account management skills
  • Excellent work ethic and time management skills
  • An ability to think quick on your feet and be commercially minded
  • A network within restaurants and hotels
  • A valid driver’s licence

You will be required to:

  • Account Manage current clients and facilitate more orders of their fresh produce
  • Drive new business growth with a strong focus on up-selling current clients
  • Win relationships with new businesses within the hospitality industry (mainly hotels and restaurants)
  • Be in the office once a week (usually Monday’s) and on the road the rest of the time meeting with clients
  • Occasional early mornings (6am) in the warehouse double checking the fruit and veg orders to your clients are correct and sufficient
  •  Network with current and new clients to foster meaningful relationships
  • Represent the business with passion and a positive attitude
