ABOUT THE ROLE

The role of the Sales Development Representative is at the core of the organisation’s new business plans. You will be highly supported to make a real difference in how they target and influence the marketplace. They are an organisation packed with bright thought leaders, and the right candidate will be able to tap into this to deliver industry-leading best practice and opinions.

The Sales Development Representative works both inbound and outbound channels to gain enough interest and schedule new meetings for the Sales team. By providing enough quality engagements, the Sales Development Representative will enable sales to add enough new business opportunities to the pipeline that convert into new clients and achieve targets.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Generate Outbound Leads

o   Utilise business and industry knowledge to research accounts, identify key players, generate interest, create/identify compelling events, and develop accounts.

o   Generate new business opportunities by proactively contacting potential new clients via telephone, email, and in-person at conferences and trade shows.

  • Manage Inbound Leads

o   Respond to inbound requests from marketing campaigns, website, conferences, or other channels.

o   Work closely with Marketing to follow up on leads from marketing campaigns as well as collaborate on and support event campaigns.

  • Contribute to the overall target accounts strategy

o   Research industry, company and people by using tools like LinkedIn Navigator that fit the company and persona profile for their solutions.

o   Use Salesforce to log, track and maintain accurate organisation, customer, deal, and contact activity records.

  • Identify market trends through constant curiosity and tracking of the industries and clients they serve.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE YOU NEED TO THRIVE IN THIS ROLE

  • Minimum of 1 year SaaS experience in a Sales Development/Lead Generation role
  • Proven experience identifying and devising a target strategy in response to market trends and news
  • Clear evidence of resilience and proactivity driving credible achievements
  • Effectively collaborate internally and influence externally
  • Evidence of a strong networker mentality
  • Salesforce experience desirable, evidence of process adherence is a requirement
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office
  • Strong sales/commercial acumen
